CAPE TOWN, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) — The Allfashion Sourcing exhibition, a renowned annual fashion and textile trade show, kicked off on Tuesday in Cape Town, the legislative capital of South Africa. Running from Sept. 10 to 12 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), the event serves as a key marketplace for the textile and fashion industry, blending African creativity, design, and manufacturing with global sourcing options. Organized by Messe Frankfurt, the world’s third-largest trade fair company, the exhibition brings together an international community of manufacturers, designers, retailers, buyers, educational institutions, associations, financiers, and service providers across the textile, apparel, footwear, and fashion sectors.
The exhibition, hosted by the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC) itself, showcased a variety of products, including machinery, chemicals, and raw materials. The exhibition aimed to promote South Africa’s industrial capacity and attract foreign investment. The exhibition, showcasing the country’s diverse industrial landscape, aimed to highlight the potential of South African companies, particularly those specializing in manufacturing.
“The Allfashion Sourcing is a vehicle that the DTIC is using to achieve an objective of ensuring sustainable job creation and increasing exports of locally manufactured products. The show will afford the DTIC an ideal opportunity to engage with a select audience of textile, clothing, footwear, leather, and fashion orientated exhibitors and visitors,” she added.
