Unveiling a Timeless Restomod: ICON 4×4’s 1975 Jeep Cherokee
Iconic automotive restoration company ICON 4×4 has recently unveiled a one-of-a-kind restomod of the 1975 Jeep Cherokee. This project not only showcases the company’s exceptional craftsmanship but also pays tribute to the rich cultural heritage of indigenous people.
The goal was to create a vehicle that could handle off-road conditions while maintaining a comfortable ride on the road. The result was a vehicle that combines the ruggedness of a 4×4 with the comfort of a modern SUV. ## The Birth of The Reformers The Reformers project was born out of a desire to create a vehicle that could handle any terrain while still providing a comfortable ride. ICON 4×4 started by studying two iconic vehicles: the 1975 Cherokee and the 1965 Jeep Gladiator.
Ward’s innovative approach involves using this leather to create a unique, durable, and stylish line of furniture. ## The Evolution of Leather Furniture Leather furniture has been a staple in homes for centuries, offering a blend of durability and elegance. However, the traditional use of animal hides has raised concerns about sustainability and ethical sourcing.
The engine is a 350 cubic inch V8, with a 4-speed manual transmission and a 3-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle’s suspension system includes a 4-link rear suspension and a 3-link front suspension. The ICON 1975 Jeep Cherokee is a limited edition, high-performance vehicle that combines luxury with rugged off-road capabilities.
The interior setup is quite modern with a Vintage Air Gen IV HVAC system that provides heating and air conditioning, as well as power windows and door locks. The audio system includes Focal Utopia speakers, and discreet LED interior lighting. In ICON’s words, they chose the 1975 Jeep Cherokee to ‘address the negligent errors of the original Detroit designers by correcting the Native American tribal homages that were incorporated into the vehicle’s original design and adding new ones where it made sense.’ Through this restomod, they aim to have both ‘talked the talk and walked the walk.’ detailed view of the front headlights
This artwork is not just a visual treat but also a testament to the artist’s dedication to detail and precision. The restomod, which has been meticulously restored and painted, stands as a symbol of transformation and rebirth, much like the concept of reform. The eagle feather, a powerful symbol of freedom and strength, is rendered with such finesse that it captures the essence of its natural beauty.
