A side has four zones with genuinely different properties. The bend is dense and firm; the belly is loose and stretches; the neck carries the animal's deepest growth wrinkles. A belt cut from the wrong one deforms within a month, and the failure arrives after it has been sold. So the real question is never how many square feet a part needs — it is how many of THAT part can come out of the zone allowed to make it. A 20 sq ft side gives about eight 1 sq ft belts, not twenty.
